For the love of God and all that is good, please don't live blog the election!!!

Let me start with this: It's your blog, do what you want.

But for the love of God and Baby Jesus don't labor under the illusion that anyone (not even your relatives) really wants to read your hastily written thoughts regarding election returns.

I've had a bit of success with this blogging thing because I've understood what readers might want to see . . . And it's not random pearls of wisdom inspired by the cable news.

The more that I do this thing we call local blogging . . . The more I see that readers want a place that they can disagree with somebody, offer their own insight or maybe garner a bit of information that isn't commidified like everything else in the corporate media matrix.

Sure, that Chris Matthews is a douche but everybody already knows that . . .

Now that's not to say that there isn't some value in an open thread or some place to store election night thoughts . . . A series of rapid fire one-liners sounds nice but it's much more difficult to pull off in an interesting way than anyone would think . . . Instead, what I've seen of live blogging is that it becomes nothing more than transcription and even worse than the tripe they post over at Midwest Voices.

So live blog at your own risk . . . I'm always interested to see what people come up with but for the most part the practice, even by Star writers, is simply another exercise in local media failure wherein the act of live blogging is a substitute for creativity that should be carried out by the content.

Vote NO of light rail.
I don't want those people getting any closer to my neighborhood that they need to.

I'm waiting to vote until I hear what Ramsey's picks were.

to each their own on blogging election results... like we need MORE sources on the same thing?

this is a historic election, with alot of local drama to boot. pick your news outlet and follow along.

for the more liberal among you, try Democracy Now (radio, maybe streaming). for the white wing, just about any radio talk show will do, but Limbaugh ought to be particularly entertaining today. you'll be able to 'hear' his face turn red. oh... wait... it's already that color.

i'm sure PBS will also be offering coverage, and of course just about every other news outlet too.

final thought... whatever you do, if you're registered to vote, do so.

VOTE OR DIE, bitches.
Well, unless you think that they are basically two heads of the same CLUSTERFUCKED MONSTER.

I predict widespread rioting tomorrow.
Either way.
The full-blown Rodney King LA APESHIT variety should the Annointed One lose...
And just your run-of-the-mill NBA championship celebratory-variety should the brotha win.
Exceptions include all cities in the Pacific Northwest, for reasons you can cipher on your own.
Grab a seat and settle in for the show.
LOLZ.

I agree - there's nothing to comment on. No actual news is happening until the very end. In the mean time you're just killing time or sadly, watching or reading other people kill time publicly.

I already voted, so my job ("right" or "privilege" or whatever it is) is done.

When I wake up in the morning, I assume that this election will still be news, and it might even be decided by then, and the people who live in the magic box in my living room can tell me THEN who won.

On Midwest Voices - what's up with all of the Yael posts? He seems to be posting every hour - and it's all left-wing kool-aid stuff. He needs to get a day job - oh, I forgot - that is his day job.

What about live Twittering it? Is that as lame?

I agree with Leigh Ann. I followed on Twitter - faster and easier than skipping around a bunch of blogs. Always come back to you, though, Tony *grin*
