KANSAS CITY'S FUNKY FOOT LOVE AFFAIR GOES NATIONAL!!! GLORIA SQUITIRO SAGA AND VOLUNTEER ORDINANCE ON NPR'S 'ALL THINGS CONSIDERED' TODAY!!!

Our murder rate is out of control but today Kansas City's Mayor is making national headlines because of his wife and the fight against the Volunteer Ordinance.

One of the most awesome TKC Tipsters just told me that the Kansas City Volunteer Ordinance saga is going to be featured this afternoon on 'All Things Considered' which plays on KCUR (89.3 FM) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the broadcast is also available on their website.

Be sure to tune in and remember to thank Mayor Funky for the kind of publicity he is giving Kansas City . . . And then take a moment to recognize (!!!) that it's not about Mayor Funky fighting "the powers that be" or bring miraculous change. So far, Mayor Funkhouser's entire tenure has been about nothing more than his pathological stubborness and his wife's feet!!!

And just for shits and giggles . . . Thank you TKC Tipsters who gave me this info and allowed me to post it way before the last remaining, highly paid and well respected reporters at The Star who are currently reporting the same-old bland content that's on C-SPAN and cable news networks.

  2. So glad city hall is worried more about this than all the people that are dying in our streets.

  3. Kansas City's most talented and successful campaign manager (Diana Kander) is telling friends that she will manage a candidate in the next Mayoral Election, whether it is next year or whenever. She has a candidate picked out and is getting ready for another victorious campaign.

  4. Just read at 3:25 that Ed Wolf, the mayor's Chief of Staff has retired. Lets get serious, it was a political job not civil service. He did not retire, he has either resigned or been let go.

RESIGNED is the real word. Ed should be honest as a way of salvaging his reputation

  5. This was in The Star last week.

  6. Now I will have to put up with a dozen phone calls from California and Florida from acquaintances about the hick town I live in and how we govern by reading foot prints (sorta like tea leaves)

I get tired of trying to let people know that we don't have only former Arkies and Okies living here.

    I'm moving to Iowa.

  7. Just heard that Gloria is now in charge of the "Light rail! Yes!!" Committee. So as sharp as she is with political stuff I guess it will not do any good to try and beat that stupid train boondoggle.

  8. I knew they were both delusional, but when she referred to herself as a "tiny little Italian" in the NPR piece it really sealed the deal. They both have psychological issues...tomorrow morning's press conference should be interesting.

  9. I suppose you're all disappointed that KCUR's guy wasn't more meanspirited?

Maybe a nice calm story puts it in perspective... the same kind of obscure, doesn't really matter stuff that NPR is so known for.

Maybe this First Lady thing has just been blown way out of proportion to keep site hits high.

After all the feet and ambushes and snickers, I think NPR's really put this story where it belongs. A simple curiosity.

  10. Nice to see our murder rate publicized to the rest of the country. Both Funk and the Council are to blame for such a ridiculous distraction.
