Kansas City's Dangerous Broadway Corridor

One more reminder to be careful while bar hopping. Check out the scary ass details of a recent Midtown hold up and rape blogged dutifully by Crime Scene KC: "The holdup began about 2:10 a.m. when two men barged into The Hangout, 3611 Broadway, through a back door that the DJ had propped open to load his equipment into his vehicle. The robbers used the victims’ shoelaces to tie their hands and demanded cash. The robbers pistol-whipped the two male employees and sodomized the female employee." Midtown regulars have long noted that this part of Kansas City has always been exceptionally volatile given the eclectic mix of people and income brackets . . . It seems as if the recent spate of violence in Kansas City is making things worse in this part of town.
