INFOWARS (sorta): Kansas City's P&L District doesn't care about your privacy!!!

A pretty kickass post from David Martin at The Pitch reveals that:

"Zip codes and other basic demographic data is compiled and used internally to determine the effectiveness of the marketing and advertising" by those damn scanners at the entrances to the P&L District."

This is pretty damaging information and could persuade people who care about how their personal data is used to stay away from the mediocre Kansas City entertainment zone, it's nearly as infuriating as $8 beer that's sold in the lame ass bowling alley and a few other establishments at the taxpayer funded hangout for affluent hipsters.

On a similar note, a recent story on KSHB about de facto automatic DNA convictions for home break-ins on the Eastside didn't inspire much confidence. It's exciting the the KCPD is using new technology but the O.J. case and several others prove that DNA doesn't mean an automatic conviction and the unquestioning use of this kind of evidence not only leaves a lot of room for error and misinterpretation but also takes the essential human element out of the important work of assuring justice for all of those who are innocent until proven guilty. DNA as another tool at the disposal of law enforcement and prosecutors is awesome but DNA evidence used as an automatic ticket to jail just seems like nothing more than genetic profiling.
