NPR recently posted a fantastic feature on a local jazz great that's a must read for anybody interested in the local music scene:
"Karrin Allyson Sings For Kansas City"
While I crack on Jazz quite a bit, TKC has a lot of respect for performers like Allyson who endure and earn accolades while participating in a form of music that not only doesn't get a lot of airplay but also isn't really a part of the pop culture zeitgeist. On the other hand, I've heard from people who actually care about this stuff that Jazz is a lot like theater in that a live performance is the only way to really understand it.
Anyhoo, Allyson's birthday is tomorrow. Her Wikipedia page claims that, like Gloria Squitiro, she performs barefoot . . . However, in Allyson's case I'm sure it's just a tad more classy.
I'd hit it.
ReplyDeleteDayum, I'd definitely give that a push.
ReplyDeleteJust make sure you gag her first, that voice is just horrible.
ReplyDeleteMichelle Markowitz's doppelganger! (The owner of Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club)
ReplyDeleteShe's a classy, sexy lady Tony. You would love her, I'm sure she would be nice to you but far above your level. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteNo chance Tony.
ReplyDeleteI'd be able to hit that throat easily.
Go back to your hole.
lolz
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when a classy lady visits TKC? She's quickly run off by threats of "hitting that throat."
ReplyDeleteWhich I would as well, by the way...it's just that there's a more delicate way of stating matters.
I would have that ass jiggling up and down at a frenzied modern jazz tempo.
LOLZ.
hahahahahahaha.
ReplyDeleteGod forbid this lady ever looks at this post. She's going to get the mistaken impression that only pervs are on the Internet.
:)
