All white, all right: The Star endorses immigrant hating lady with no ethics

The Star is set to endorse Lynn Jenkins in the Kansas 2nd District Republican Primary tomorrow.

I was hoping they'd take the high road and go with Jim Ryun but I guess that was hoping for too much.

Strangely, the Star didn't do very much reporting about two big issues in this race:

  • Jenkins and her spiteful and misinformed attacks over ads launched by a PAC.

  • Jenkins and her part in promotion which she should have thought better of and was referred to as an "Unethical campaign ads being paid for by people Lynn kindly awarded with a multi-million dollar state contract."

So yeah, I'm guessing that The Star likes her because she's a lady who seems to love taxes and taking advantage of her position despite ethical concerns.

As for the lady and her constant cry to "defend the borders," she would do well to mind her own lack of integrity rather than worry about protecting her district from cheap labor, dishwashers and low prices.

    1. Which Jim Ryun are supporting, Tony?

The one who is on record as saying he wants no amnesty of any kind and no taxpayer benefits for illegal immigrants? (Think of how many members of the Botello and Valenciano clans won't get to enjoy the benefits of American citizenship they did nothing to earn.)

The one who is a strong supporter of the Marriage Protection Amendment? (I mention this because I've seen you try to put the moves on the ladies, Tony. Don Juan, you ain't. My advice -- learn to swing from both sides of the plate. It's your best chance of wedded bliss in this lifetime.)

The one whose son got a job working for Tom DeLay, then contributed $1,000 to DeLay's legal defense fund? (The horror! Think of how many snack cakes and action figures you can pull for a grand!)

The one whose daughter dropped out of college but still got a six-figure job working for the Bush administration with the Office of Faith-Based Initiatives? (That's almost as bad as the minimally talented blogger who got bounced from his only paying gig and still lives at home with his mom.)

Maybe there's another Jim Ryun running for office. After all, if this is the one you're supporting ... well, as Ricky Ricardo often says to Lucy, "You got some 'splaining to do."

      So go ahead. 'Splain.

    2. MD you are obviously in love with Tony's blog and probably a miserable fundie and a failure at life.

Too bad Tony's going to turn out right on this one, Jim Ryun is the better candidate and your petty attacks are indicative of coward Republicans who hide on the Internet rather than meet real people as Ryun has done. I've seen him in one townhall after the next along with going door-to-door and on the street. Meanwhile Jenkins use the money of state agencies to run her campaign.

As for your racism, I think you'll find that Tony is a citizen and your attacks against him represent the same kind of backward thinking promoted by Jenkins and her ilk.

MD, you're the reason why so many Republicans are being forced out of office and why Kansas Republicans in particular are thought of as a joke across the nation. You should be thankful Tony gives you a forum to post your comments because so many other people are tired of what you have to say.

    3. I don't live in Kansas and I'm not a Republican but I think that MD just got taken out to the woodshed.

    4. Nice, RKPub. Don't bother to refure anything I said about Ryun or his record, or to question why Tony supports him. For that matter, don't bother to explain your support for Ryun, either. Just go ahead and attack me, then go ahead and "hide on the Internet," as you put it. Now if that ain't the pot calling the kettle black.

Face it, pal. The reason Ryun and the other Kansas Republicans are thought of as jokes in the rest of the country is because, by and large, they ARE jokes. Kris effin Kobach is the leader of the party here -- the same Kris Kobach that got absolutely crushed by Dennis Moore four years ago; the same Kris Kobach that Tony's been campaigning to have removed from UMKC for months -- and you're defending Tony's choice of party and candidate?

Ryun's a Bible-thumping tool who's running for Congress again because that little Jesus camp masquerading as a running class doesn't pay the bills. It's the best chance he has of a steady paycheck for the next two years. So you met him at a town hall meeting. How wonderful for you. Would you like a cookie? While you're at it, make sure to write the date down so that you can tell your kids later. I'm surprised he didn't speak to you in tongues or splash you with holy water on the way out. How'd you like to be represented in DC by this effin nutbar? The sad thing is, you just might get your wish.

And Steve ... woodshed? C'mon, man. If that's RKPub's best shot, he'd better stick to Kansas politics. He'd never make it outside of flyover country.

    5. I just like to say.."Republicans hate illegals..and are only in love with themselves or practice self-love in many different forms."

      So much for Christian values...

    7. 8:14, it looks like you brought a knife to a gunfight. MD took your best shot and hit you with a couple of knockout punches.
