The Rise of the TKC Syndicate: Online colleagues are something to smile about!!!

Here's a nice way to start the day . . . Journalism isn't rocket science. Anybody can be a reporter on their lives, opinions or surroundings. Corporate media once disguised themselves as a middleman for information that belonged to the public anyway. They even claimed to be a branch of government. The illusion is slowly starting to fade . . . Nobody owns the news, anything that can be digitized can be copied, shared and compiled. The current profit models for content are soon to be a thing of the past.

To wit, TKC has assembled a collection of some of the best blogs about Kansas City in a widget on the sidebar. Feel free to share it, use it or simply browse the links. I'm EXTREMELY HAPPY with the group of bloggers who have signed up . . . (I'm tempted to add a link to a del.icio.us feed of my own just to so I can link some of the better blogger posts that I've read which don't quite fit with TKC content . . . Just a thought . . .)

So far the syndicate includes:

  • Alonzo Washington's blog
  • RDM's Random Remarks
  • The Kansas City Post
  • Blog KC
  • Bottomline Communications
  • Kansas City's About.com blog
  • The Midtown Miscreant
  • Zach is Here

In even better news, there's room for more . . . Send me a link to your RSS feed or drop me a line in the comments if you write about Kansas City consistently and you'd like to share links to your content in a collection of Kansas City's best bloggers.
