An extended break from/for Jackson County

Jackson County considers four-day workweek. Since I can't figure out exactly what they do other than impose taxes on a great deal of Kansas City at the behest of the Hunt family . . . I'm gonna go ahead and say this is a good thing.

The move is being touted as an environmental initiative to cut back on fuel cost. I'm also guessing that the stench hasn't quite cleared from Kathryn Shield's tenure so maybe a lot of three day weekends will clear the air. And, to be fair, TKC has a few friends at the County who do work exceptionally hard and deserve one less trip to the office . . . Look for telecommuting to play a bigger role in local government, especially since Light Rail isn't going anywhere according to most people working at Jackson County.

  1. this is a good move if they do it. More places should adopt it. Most people are only productive 3 days a week, if you want to be truthful about it.

  2. Don't most civil servants only do 3 days of actual work a week anyway.

  3. There are some inspectors that work off site. I think if they are already out there why not add a couple more hours to their day and save the expense of sending them back out. And for those that work in the bldgs, well this could mean extended hours for the public. Good move Mike Sanders!

  4. They could have this in place before Mike Sharp buys the sheriff's office and that would give Mike an extra day to chase college girls around the bars.

  5. What a bunch of ignorant dweebs. The only way that you save any money in a 4-day work week is if you don't drive anywhere on your extra day off! If you're going to the dentist, hardware shop, taking Aunt Martha to the doctor, or any of the 100 other errands your inclined to do, you'll put an extra 60 miles on the old jalopy over and above just going to work and back. Just another ploy for those lazy city workers to not show up to work anymore than they have too!

  6. Mike Sharp will buy the Sheriff's Department.

And he will probably take the Deputies to the peanut on that extra day off to chase the girls.

Oh what fun it is to ride in Mike Sharps Chevrolet!!!

Oh ring the bells, Mauer smells and Bullard laid an egg!!

Nothing you can do about it!

Checks in the mail, thanks to all you other pretenders for splitting the vote...
