Truth Exposed: The Internet in Kansas City is filled with racist anonymous commenters

It's a trend that that's apparent to a lot of people of color, whenever there is any topic related even marginally related to race or crime on the Kansas City Star's website there is always, reliably a torrent of racist remarks. The situation has grown so bleak that it has inspired The Star to display a disclaimer before people can leave comments:
Share your observations and experiences about news. Lively, open debate is the goal, but please refrain from personal attacks or comments that are racist, vulgar or otherwise inappropriate. If you see an inappropriate comment, please click the "Report as violation" link to notify a KansasCity.com editor. Thanks for your feedback.
That's a pretty bold step for the paper of record . . . This trend was blogged on previously by RDM and he puts it even more plainly given that the stupidity of Kansas City's racist Internet trolls was once again exposed:
"You will notice that racist white people like to comment on anything related to crime and anything related to a negative story in this town. The newspaper can’t sell a paper these days, so they are content with keeping readership up via the web. On most of their stories, many details about criminals are vague and left open to interpretation.

That’s where the racist anonymous white commenter comes in to play. They are quick to label any crime as a direct result of “those BLACKS” and so on."
In fact, a local story involving a white guy killing two African-American females proved to have so many racist comments that The Star recently cut off comments as of this writing.

Sadly, this isn't the first time this sort of thing has happened. I remember that local Latino leaders were frustrated that The Star took almost no action when a stream of racist comments were directed at Kansas City's Latino Community during the Frances Semler debacle. And earlier this year when a college graduate, relative of a police officer was killed outside of a bar the racist comments on The Star's site continued.

Personally, I'm an advocate of "Freedom on the Press" and most of my traffic comes from racists who don't realize that they're contributing to this blog's popularity by loyally following my brilliant observations . . . However, Kansas City's paper of record is not a blog of a struggling writer.

I'm curious about the policy of The Star when it comes to racist comments, it seems completely arbitrary and obviously negative comments toward Latinos are encouraged. While some may lament the open display of bigotry put forth by Kansas City's paper of record . . . In the end I think it's important to draw people out into the open, and it just proves my theory that the folks that support the mainstream media and THE PEOPLE IN GENERAL IN KANSAS CITY ARE RACIST. They might have to troll message boards to express their true feelings, but the sentiment clearly exists in abundance.

Are you saying SOME posters should be able to say whatever they want? However, if they post things you disagree with they should be censored?
It's always funny how individuals with opposing thoughts should be stifled.

It's not just the KC Star. Read the comments section of any major U.S. daily, it's full of this type of insanity. Any story that has even the most remote racial component (and sometimes even not) and the comments section degenerates into some pretty nasty and ignorant shit. While the "fuck whitey" crowd is in effect, they're pretty much outnumbered 15-1 by the "typical white people", who generally start the madness.

Tony, you said:

"THE PEOPLE IN GENERAL IN KANSAS CITY ARE RACIST."

I agree - and I lived in Chicago during the '60s.

I didn't even KNOW the word "prejudice" (or the concept) until my family moved to Kansas City - and I'm white.

Despite the "arguments" of the above anonymous d-bags, disrespectful and racist comments are a huge problem both at the Star and on this blog. Tony I can't subscribe to comments on your blog anymore because these people are so hateful.

Tony-You seem to have a burning desire to expose this "secret" and get racist people to admit they are racists. The hilarious thing is that...this is not a secret and my friends and I are happy to tell you exactly how we feel about minorities and the logical reasons why we don't like them. You say that your theory is that "people in general in KC are racist"....guess what genius...WE ARE! People have to post anonymously because you and others will use our identities to guilt the liberal officials in this town into throwing the book at us. That's OK though, we will continue to run our companies and work behind the scenes to make sure the white man still has a say in this country. VIA CON DIOS!

yes, the poor white man...if only our voices were heard (yes, I am a white man).

I doubt your thoughts of minorities are "logical"
