New blog follows the Kansas City improv scene a.k.a. people not funny enough to develop a stand-up act

Here's a great place to keep up with local d-bags who are into comedy WITHOUT having to see one of their far too expensive shows . . . The Kansas City Improv blog touts itself as "Everything you did and didn't want to know about improv in Kansas City." Actually, it's a really good idea for a niche blog in this town considering that these folks acutally get a lot of press on slow news days. Double Bonus: Inevitably, one of these folks will get famous like Jason Sudeikis (???) so following their career will make your life seem all that much more insignificant.

  1. I think you got it wrong.

It's not that we improvisers aren't funny enough to develop a stand-up act, we are just too lazy to write something funny down, then memorize, then rewrite it. Sheesh... that's too much like work.

  2. Got to agree with Clay, here...the majority of local stand-ups I've seen polish the same three-minute turd for years on end.

  3. That's awesome Tony! By saying improv people are not funny enough to do standup it makes you sound like your a person who knows about comedy. I bet all your friends say your a "funny guy". Good Stuff! Can't wait to see your stand up routine.

  4. Wow. You nailed them. They don't write material, work on it in front of paying people for months on end, and then when it's just right, repeat it for the next 20 years. Lazy bastards.

They make up funny on the spot, rarely repeating the same thing twice, and making people laugh constantly.

    Lazy D-bags.
