The movement against Mayor Funkhouser

This blogging thing has been hard because it has allowed me to see up close and personal that so many Kansas City columnists are clueless and often not even as well informed as the average person on the street . . . Luckily, Mike Hendricks writing from his JoCo hideaway doesn't really qualify as a Big City Columnist since he's more of a poor man's Dave Barry only not as funny, growing more bitter every day and pretty much the living embodiment of the decline of print media.

I always thought the "Falling Star" phrase was stupid . . . I'm going with "collection of self-important d-bags who consider their opinion and information more valuable than the community which they cover." As I think about the decline of The Star I realize that it's not about technology, it's about elitism and outmoded ways of looking at information.

TKC Mike Hendricks insult of the day: Hendricks is the hack that most journalists and writers hope they never become: Stupidly self-assured and hopelessly out of the loop like some kind grade school gym teacher that people actively try to avoid.

Recently, Hendricks proudly proclaimed the recall effort was "doomed" and while I don't think the situation is so bleak I'm completely willing to acknowledge the fact that a grassroots petition drive is a hard thing to pull off (nullus) . . . Sadly, Henricks misses the real part of the story . . . The fact that such a movement exists demonstrates the palpable level of disgust with Mayor Funkhouser's Administration that exists in urban core, Midtown Kansas City and throughout KC Proper (even the Northland). Mayor Kay was never popular but only in her last year in office did she have to deal with such antipathy from so many KC residents.

Whether it's this recall or the next one that finally puts the issue on the ballot, the fact is that many people (and political groups) have expressed their support of the recall petitioners and it's only folks from JoCo making proclamations from their media platforms who have went out of the way to criticize the grassroots effort in Kansas City proper.

  4. Tony thinks he has his pulse on KC by continuously claiming that all the people for Funkhouser are from Johnson County. He talks about JC so much, it must really envy them. It is a fact that the true KC taxpayers are the ones behind Funkhouser. All the degenerate scum that can't make anything with their worthless lives are the ones crying for "mommy". Tony and all the other low lives that live off the sweat of other people's hard work are less than man. No real man would be living in the basement of his mother... and be proud of it. Tony's mom is just one more bitch that his screwing before he dies lonely behind his computer tucked away from the real world. What a worm you are Tony.
