Legislators discuss how to keep minorities, old people, Latinos and po'folk from voting

Proof of citizenship before voter registration is debated in Kansas

Comments

  1. Huselkamp has a large hispanic population with a meat packing plants in Liberal and Dodge City. He's probably just wants to suppress the minority vote in his district.

Furthermore, with Kris Kobach..UMKC's resident agent-of-hate and KS Republican Party Leader what else do you expect. Unless, their worried about all those white Mennonites from Mexico, who live in SW KS are registering to vote.

  2. Yes. God forbid we should limit the right to vote to actual citizens.

Let's just place absentee ballots on the internet and let anyone in the world vote for president.

  3. Xavier..show me one case of voter fraud in Kansas. The only problem of voter fraud is white people from KS voting in Missouri.

  4. Why bother with facts when it's easier to blame all of America's problems on Mexicans?

  5. XO my 87 year old uncle spent three years in a Japanese POW camp in WWII but you would disenfranchise my Uncle and many many other citizens - who just happen to vote Democratic at higher rates than "hip suburban guys." He was born in South Dakota, but he does not have the "proof of citizenship" that these people want.

So XO, in honor of my Uncle and the American Democracy that he honored from that prison camp, lick my ass and tell me it tastes good before you post anything as stupid as "God forbid we should limit the right to vote to actual citizens."

  6. I heard once that a bald guy with dark shades committed a crime, like it might have been rape.

Therefore, I think that we should castrate all bald guys who wear dark shades, before there is trouble. Does that sound good to you XO?

  7. Tony,

Are you saying Latinos are less likely to have drivers’ licenses that your standard U.S. citizens, not the ones I’ve been around?

And really if they are legal citizens and don’t have a valid photo ID of some kind they have bigger problems than not being able to vote. Cashing checks to name just one.

  8. XO- The Secretary of State, Kansas' top election official said that its a non-issue as there has never been any proof presented to him regarding these allegations. He is republican and said that! Dude, it's a hate law aimed at eliminating voters man.

How would you like it if you went to vote like everyone else, but unlike everyone else, because of your last name you are asked for your birth certificate? Or weren't granted your voting card until you can mail in your birth certificate, something that 99.9999999% of all voters dont have to do.

You are all over the map on issues man. seriously.

  9. I love how Tony "white people are my sworn enemies" Botello keeps telling us how racist we are for watning to insure his illegal alien relatives aren't voting illegally for more hand outs.

"[Democracies] can exist only until the voters discover they can vote themselves largess out of the public treasury." - Adam Tyler

Quit trying to disenfranchise legitimate, tax paying citizens.

"...show me one case of voter fraud..."

"Kansas City election officials said this was the most irresponsible and extensive voter registration abuse they had seen." http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2006/11/missouri-acorn-workers-indicted-35000.html

Investigation shows votes cast under registrations of the dead - http://www.angelfire.com/pa/sergeman/issues/elections/deceased.html

I found these in just about 30 seconds searching. If you don't check ID, you can't prove or verify all the voters voting are legit. If you don't require proof of citizenship, you can't guarantee illegal aliens aren't voting.

First, county clerks aren't allowed to ask if you are citizen, therefore they could not report any fraud. Election workers aren't allowed to ask for photo ID, so again, there is nothing they can report.

Second, the illegal immigration issue is not a republican or democrat issue. Both Donkeys and Elephants have pushed for amnesty and vice versa. Its the McCain-Kennedy-Bush bill for crying outlet.

Yet, the elites who think that eroding our sovereignty by allowing a bunch of foreign loyalist illegal aliens to vote doesn't change the fact that polls show 80% of Americans support securing the border and ending the drain illegal aliens cause on our welfare systems, jails, and hospitals.

Does your uncle have a drivers license? Does he collect social secuity? Does he have a valid SSN? Than what exactly would disenfranchise him?

Ask him if he is more disenfranchised by having to show ID when voting or by knowing that thousands of illegal immigrants are going to the polls and voting for neocons like McCain and Bush and negating his votes.

  13. There is a great amount of interest in this year’s presidential elections, as everybody seems to recognize that our next president has to be a lot better than George Bush. The Democrats are riding high with two groundbreaking candidates — a woman and an African-American — while the conservative Republicans are in a quandary about their party’s nod to a quasi-liberal maverick, John McCain.

Each candidate is carefully pandering to a smorgasbord of special-interest groups, ranging from gay, lesbian and transgender people to children of illegal immigrants to working mothers to evangelical Christians.

There is one group no one has recognized, and it is the group that will decide the election: the Angry White Man. The Angry White Man comes from all economic backgrounds, from dirt-poor to filthy rich. He represents all geographic areas in America, from urban sophisticate to rural redneck, deep South to mountain West, left Coast to Eastern Seaboard.

His common traits are that he isn’t looking for anything from anyone — just the promise to be able to make his own way on a level playing field. In many cases, he is an independent businessman and employs several people. He pays more than his share of taxes and works hard.

The victimhood syndrome buzzwords — “disenfranchised,” “marginalized” and “voiceless” — don’t resonate with him. “Press ‘one’ for English” is a curse-word to him. He’s used to picking up the tab, whether it’s the company Christmas party, three sets of braces, three college educations or a beautiful wedding.

He believes the Constitution is to be interpreted literally, not as a “living document” open to the whims and vagaries of a panel of judges who have never worked an honest day in their lives.

The Angry White Man owns firearms, and he’s willing to pick up a gun to defend his home and his country. He is willing to lay down his life to defend the freedom and safety of others, and the thought of killing someone who needs killing really doesn’t bother him.

The Angry White Man is not a metrosexual, a homosexual or a victim. Nobody like him drowned in Hurricane Katrina — he got his people together and got the hell out, then went back in to rescue those too helpless and stupid to help themselves, often as a police officer, a National Guard soldier or a volunteer firefighter.

His last name and religion don’t matter. His background might be Italian, English, Polish, German, Slavic, Irish, or Russian, and he might have Cherokee, Mexican, or Puerto Rican mixed in, but he considers himself a white American.

He’s a man’s man, the kind of guy who likes to play poker, watch football, hunt white-tailed deer, call turkeys, play golf, spend a few bucks at a strip club once in a blue moon, change his own oil and build things. He coaches baseball, soccer and football teams and doesn’t ask for a penny. He’s the kind of guy who can put an addition on his house with a couple of friends, drill an oil well, weld a new bumper for his truck, design a factory and publish books. He can fill a train with 100,000 tons of coal and get it to the power plant on time so that you keep the lights on and never know what it took to flip that light switch.

Women either love him or hate him, but they know he’s a man, not a dishrag. If they’re looking for someone to walk all over, they’ve got the wrong guy. He stands up straight, opens doors for women and says “Yes, sir” and “No, ma’am.”

He might be a Republican and he might be a Democrat; he might be a Libertarian or a Green. He knows that his wife is more emotional than rational, and he guides the family in a rational manner.

He’s not a racist, but he is annoyed and disappointed when people of certain backgrounds exhibit behavior that typifies the worst stereotypes of their race. He’s willing to give everybody a fair chance if they work hard, play by the rules and learn English.

Most important, the Angry White Man is pissed off. When his job site becomes flooded with illegal workers who don’t pay taxes and his wages drop like a stone, he gets righteously angry. When his job gets shipped overseas, and he has to speak to some incomprehensible idiot in India for tech support, he simmers. When Al Sharpton comes on TV, leading some rally for reparations for slavery or some such nonsense, he bites his tongue and he remembers. When a child gets charged with carrying a concealed weapon for mistakenly bringing a penknife to school, he takes note of who the local idiots are in education and law enforcement.

He also votes, and the Angry White Man loathes Hillary Clinton. Her voice reminds him of a shovel scraping a rock. He recoils at the mere sight of her on television. Her very image disgusts him, and he cannot fathom why anyone would want her as their leader. It’s not that she is a woman. It’s that she is who she is. It’s the liberal victim groups she panders to, the “poor me” attitude that she represents, her inability to give a straight answer to an honest question, his tax dollars that she wants to give to people who refuse to do anything for themselves.

There are many millions of Angry White Men. Four million Angry White Men are members of the National Rifle Association, and all of them will vote against Hillary Clinton, just as the great majority of them voted for George Bush.

He hopes that she will be the Democratic nominee for president in 2008, and he will make sure that she gets beaten like a drum.

  14. James, I quoted the Sec. Of State in Kansas not Missouri. Facts are facts. He said it. Your racist assumptions are just hear say.

"Election workers aren't allowed to ask for photo ID, so again, there is nothing they can report."

That's funny. My election workers ask for my drivers license everytime I vote. Of course they can ask for ID. Heck, if you've actually worked a station you have more than likely seen election workers asking for bills and other forms of ID to minority voters.

"illegal alien relatives aren't voting illegally for more hand outs."

Relatives of undocumented workers believe it or not smart guy can be legal !! If they are legal they hvae voting rights. You wanting to take that away from legal us citizens because of their race and assumption of legal status further proves why this law is bad.

    ReplyDelete
  15. What the legislation ultimately asks for is the presentation of a raised seal birth certificate (not just a copy) in order to renew drivers licenses or other forms of official state ID that would have to be presented in order to vote. It is extremely difficult for the elderly, the poor or naturalized US citizens to come up with the documentation necessary, so they will be disenfranchised. Which is just what bigots like Krazy Kris Kobach have in mind.

So line up behind XO with your forked tongue stuck out James, you racist maggot.

    ReplyDelete
  16. James...You and Kris Kobach must be be giving each other hand jobs. none of the voter fraud you mention involved Illegal Aliens? Now make sure you switch hands you don't want to get carpal tunnel syndrome..

  19. Jesus H. Christ in a chicken basket people. I really don't have time for this so I will try to make it quick and use small words.

anon 11:40 - "Xavier..show me one case of voter fraud in Kansas." - I don't keep those records, go ask someone else.

dirty butt - "who just happen to vote Democratic at higher rates than "hip suburban guys." - Oh Jebus! You SO CLEARLY have no idea who I am or what my politics are. Just STFU. Seriously. "He was born in South Dakota, but he does not have the "proof of citizenship" that these people want." - Have him write the state capitol and request a copy of his birth certificate. It ain't that fucking difficult. That's what I had to do when I applied for my passport.

anon 2:39 - "...weren't granted your voting card until you can mail in your birth certificate, something that 99.9999999% of all voters dont have to do" - That's bullshit. 99.9999999% of citizens DO have some proof of citizenship and 100% of citizens can request and get a copy of their birth certificates. You write a letter, you get a copy. It's fucking easy.

anon 4:57 - Please shut up. You are giving Angry White Men a bad name. I'm workin' here!

anon said 4:57 - "My election workers ask for my drivers license everytime I vote". I don't know if you ar in KS or MO, but in MO they don't ask for a photo ID or a Drivers License. They ask for something with your signature on it so they can verify your signature on the voter roll.

dirty butt 5:24 - "It is extremely difficult for the elderly, the poor or naturalized US citizens to come up with the documentation necessary, so they will be disenfranchised" - That is a huge, steaming pile of stanky bull shit. You write a fucking letter to the state capital and in a couple of weeks you get a certified copy of your birth certificate with a raised seal. It costs a couple of bucks and it is easier than going to the grocery store.

That's all the time I have for you douche nozzles.

  20. Hey James, I'm still not going to read your blog because it sucks.

Xavier makes a lot of good points but he doesn't realize that real intention of this policy. It only happens when Republicans don't want people of a certain background voting.

I am going to start reading Xavier's blog.

  21. Copies do not cut it XO, the point of the legislation being pushed by conservatives in many states is that it has to be a raised seal ORIGINAL. Most County Courthouses do not send out that kind of document -- BAM Disenfranchised!

You need to think more critically XO. Even if Dirty Butt needs to learn about cleaning himself.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Once they get their legal identification and they can vote.

    ReplyDelete
  23. How do "they" do that with out a raised seal "AMERICAN" birth certificate under the legislation favored by KKKobach? Quit telling the Big Lie, my bigoted, right-wing, foil?

God it must be fun to be a conservative and not have to take time to think.

    ReplyDelete
  24. porchpundit - "it has to be a raised seal ORIGINAL. Most County Courthouses do not send out that kind of document -- BAM Disenfranchised"

Bullshit. You don't request proof from the "County Courthouse". You request it from the state.

    http://dor.mo.gov/mvdl/drivers/proofdocs.pdf

Maybe the "pundit" should get off his "porch" and take the 30 seconds required to discover how incredibly easy it is to provide the required documentation to prove citizenship.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Not originals. Try again XO.
