Just like most bloggers I'm filled a lot of with jealousy and angst (and snack cakes) . . . However, I'm cognizant of the future and it's clear to me that this whole Internets thing is headed toward a video dominated enviornment.
Luckily, Kansas City bloggers are already out in front of this trend.
Community Activist/Blogger/vlogger Alonzo Washington is making a lot of waves about crime in Kansas City on Godtube. He's at the point now where the audience that he commands is just as big as some of the smaller media outlets that he once had to ask for coverage.
On the social networking side of things, I've been a big fan of Across the Board for a long time and blogger Ramsey has the right idea by making vid blogs a part of his presentation. I look forward to reading Across the Board every day and I was just a bit disappointed with his announcement that he'd be taking a few hours away from blogging (sacrilege for any true blogger) but then he used a Youtube clip to display AN AMAZING NEW COMPUTER and dual monitor set up and I instantly started to hate the guy and stereotypical blogger envy started to kick in . . . (Not really)
Ramsey video blogs a lot of local events and isn't that political but his clips are one of the best examples of the way that personal publishing and social networking keep changing in Kansas City.
Helloooooooo..........You Tube is nation wide but also is World wide. Of course he is going to get alot of hits. Big deal. Most of the hits are from outside of the country.
