Little Satisfaction in Kansas City

According to a recent Spivak post, Kansas City doesn't stack up very well to the suburbs in terms of Citizen Satisfaction.

This is hard for me to imagine since we've had almost a whole year of Mayor Funky at the helm of our tiny, disappointing, but still feisty little burg. However, these are 2006 numbers so I'm sure that a year of racial animosity and almost no progress on steel street covers has made people a lot happier with their town!!!

Kansas City, Mo., had the metro area’s lowest level of citizen satisfaction in more than half the quality-of-life and city services questions reviewed by The Star.

So I wonder if living in KC is still less satisfying than life in the burbs . . . Like most everything else in the metro area . . . Maybe higher levels of suburban bliss are due to the fact that folks from that area (white women at least) are getting "satisfied" in KC Proper.



Sadly, I'm curious to see if people will be more satisfied with Kansas City as time goes on given our impotent Mayor who not only can't keep his appointees happy in their positions but also shoots blanks when it comes to attempts to impose his will on all of the City.

In fact, now that I think of it the only person who seems to be satisfied is Gloria Squitiro as she describes her husband getting a prostate exam . . . And while that may be entertaining, I'm not sure if all of Kansas City is ready to submit to her will and the invasive practices of "Dr. Sausage Fingers."

And speaking of unsatisfied . . . THE BUDGET DISCUSSION BEGINS!!! Even Mayor Funky sounds ominous about this one.
