Blogging = Cannibalism

Blogging isn't about writing . . . I've always considered it to be a postmodern exercise that requires references, context and lots of links.

TKC quotes and links just about every media outlet in the City and sometimes I even get a mention back . . . But it's good to know my influence is being felt among the hipsters at The Pitch considering that they have obviously drawn a lot of inspiration from this blog for their own (less entertaining) posts.

For instance, I really like a recent (s)Plog post entitled:

The Star's Optimistic Ways

In fact, I liked the post the first time I read it on my blog.

Still, this is a small town and I know as well as anybody how hard it is to come up with new topics or even new ways to deal with tired local topics. Therefore, I'm not going to make a big deal out of TKC influence felt by less creative mainstream media types.

In fact, there's room for everyone to criticize The Star.

I just don't think the Pitch should make any accusations about lack of originality. And if they're going to follow my line of thinking, it wouldn't hurt them to cut me a check or ask me to write a column that's far more relevant than what they've been pooping out lately in their offices that are mostly without minority representation.

TKC NOTE: And here's where the Pitch fires off a hit post about TKC where they either compare me to a murderer for simply writing a blog or otherwise pout about how irrelevant they've become because of technology and bloggers all over town who come up with less obvious ways to agree with TKC.

  3. I'm confused...it seems like they wrote an article regarding the same topic you wrote about on the 1st, but it doesn't seem to be copying you in any way. What were they supposed to do? Link to your commentary and say, "Go look at this for our opinion on the Sprint Center lack-of-tenant issue." That wouldn't make any sense.

    I dig your ass, Tony, but you aren't the be-all-end-all when it comes to picking on journalists in this town. It's not THAT small of a city, dude...

  4. "I dig your ass"

    I don't even want to think about that from these two fat bitches.
