After a while, all of that "up with hope" propaganda coming out of Greensburg has become a little tiresome.
Thanks to the Internets . . . There's an alternative view coming out of that town.
Here's a great comment that recently showed up in the archives of this blog:
Hey! This is a Greensburg [former] resident. I moved to Kinsley after the tornado and I am sick and tired of hearing about Greensburg! . . . I am a Senior at Greensburg HS for 9 more weeks and I cant wait to get away from that town. It will not rebuild. The city is now charging $400 for unmowed property, schools are throwing away dontaions bc they are "not good enough" and more and more people are moving away. Greensburg was founded on Free Enterprise and now Government is trying to grow Greensburg back to what it wants, not the will of the people.Nice. It's almost good to know that there is a little dissent as to what's going on in that place rather than just the happy news reported by TV in addition to a few wackos comparing the situation to Katrina in a lame attempt to pat themselves on the back even harder.
