Sprint Center Opening Act Confirmed!!! Tap dancing from downtown cheerleaders as to how the place is going to sustain itself with no anchor tenant.
Stop your pipe dreaming . . . The Nashville Predators are staying put.
The Sonics have eschewed KC for Oklahoma City . . . Read that again and let it sink in:
A pro basketball team picked Oklahoma City over KC!!!
Clearly, things aren't looking good for the new arena but I will go back and correct myself (a bit). If there aren't any decent new attractions downtown (I'm not counting all the chain stores) then I guess the parking for the place will be ample and maybe the environment won't change that much and the tumbleweeds will stay as well when they aren't thwarted by the construction barriers.
Sadly, there's no stopping the cheering from folks who can't get a grip on their irrational exuberance whenever a construction project (that excludes minorities) is in question.
Actually, I'm looking forward to the entertaining ways that so many folks are going to try and spin this one. And I am curious about the Sprint Center opening act.
Well as we all heard at the Town hall meeting a lot of us told you so. The voters of this city are the ones who voted the Sprint center in and the entertainment center could have been stopped if only a few people would have stood up and told Barnes NO. So it is time to make sure that Barnes does not get any other government jobs--call The man with the bloody ax--Jeff Roe and volunteer your time. did everyone see Gloriosio at the town hall meeting--is he working for Funk?
ReplyDeletebesides that it has no parking within the legal 250 feet from the Sprint Arena. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteanon ............wrong . You are totally wrong. The people voted down the 85,000 seat arena. The city told Barnes you can have a 18,500 seat arena without a vote. Anon ,,,,get your facts right.
