Clay Chastain wasted a lot of time yesterday with light rail his pipe dream that will never happen . . . More than anything, his cavalier attitude about completely ignoring the minority community and leaving them with nothing but the scraps of his "plan" is indicative of so many light rail lovers.
Sharon Sanders Brooks asked whether any of her inner-city district would be included in the light rail. She was troubled when Chastain said no. He emphasized that her district would benefit from bus routes and electric shuttles that would carry riders to the light-rail system.Eh, the only rail I'm interested in is the one they eventually ride him out of town on when he sues the city . . . Too bad the media seemed to buy his line about not getting into an adversarial relationship when his plan is ultimately rejected and at the very least changed dramatically, the fact is . . . If you take him at his word . . . He promises nothing less than a full tilt, expensive lawsuit should City Hall veer from his "vision" - a term that crazy people and peyote smoking Native Americans use along with development dunces like Chastain.
I agree, by giving him face time you are only feeding his ego. He's going to sue no matter what - why? Because suing means more attention, more slobbering columns from Hearne Christopher, more front page articles in the Star, more everything.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how we're going to tear a column out of Bartle Hall and we're going to tear up all the trees on Meyer Blvd, and put a stoplight up on Heart of America Bridge. Wow! What Vision!!
Lightrail in African American areas won't work. Because they do not support there local shopping areas. For instance, 18th and Vine and the Bannister Mall area.
ReplyDeleteClay is the Way
I could care less about the eastside getting a train. The only issue on my mind right now: Gondolas and what color one I should ride to work in everyday. Its gonna be awesome. Just like Disneyland's People Mover.
ReplyDeleteClose Broadway for a month and then turn Clay over to the people who use Broadway to get to work.
ReplyDeleteNot "no way clay" but rather "No more clay".
Remember all that has been said about having feet of Clay. HOW ABOUT A BRAIN OF CLAY
