This is what happens when you lose a war

I was intrigued when I came across an insightful report from KC Currents regarding a Tet Celebration in Kansas City.
The Vietnamese American Community of Greater Kansas City rang in the New Year with traditional food and dance performances, as well as live pop songs and a fashion show.
It sounds fun but it also reminds me that we should all be prepared to "celebrate" Ramadan in our hometown about 20 years from now if things continue to go badly in Iraq and the rest of the region . . . I should qualify that remark, local Muslims mark the date in this town already but I'm guessing that taking a big fat L in the War of Terror might mean that you'll have to incorporate the rituals into your calender in order to appear diverse.

Don't believe me? When the was the last Native American tradition in which you had to take part or face the dreadful possibility of an afternoon in a diversity seminar? Thanksgiving doesn't count, damnit! That's only a holiday in which white people celebrate tricking the people they eventually slaughtered. Put simply, my point is that winners rarely have to make allowances for their behavior.

Finally, I'd like to put in my order right now for the 2015 model Bin Laden: The ultimate Arab Luxury Sedan. Think I'm kidding? Then ask your last living grandparent why he or she never bought a Toyota or why Jewish people driving German cars is still an issue in some circles.
