Regular readers of this blog are most likely horrible people, the ghey or don't have parents who love them. However, I have a mom that I love and I'm pretty sure she likes me too.
So, we made this video together that I think turned out well . . . She let me have a bit more creative freedom with this project and even managed to take direction a little bit but only in the "fun" part of the video and even then she complained. Anyway, that's still pretty unusual considering that most of the time she doesn't like it when I come upstairs from the basement when she's having company.
The video addresses the subject of her community involvement in relation to the police. Recently, she has played a small role in the aftermath of the Salva case , working to ensure that the progress community members have made in terms of cooperation with the KCPD is not lost because of the incident.
Whereas I recently purchased a vintage Cobra Commander GI Joe action figure at quite a bargain on Ebay.
But I digress . . .
The important thing here is that I think the video does a nice job of showing a (very short) candidate who has experience in relation to issues of local crime and community policing whereas so many candidates would rather talk about anything but a subject that makes them nervous about racial issues, socio-economic concerns and slew of other sensibilities. Regardless, it has long been my contention that the issue of crime and violence and this community's cooperation with the KCPD to address those issues is the most important thing facing Kansas City. Every other concern is dependent upon the outcome . . . Still, I usually raise those concerns while posting a photo of a scantily clad model wearing a meter maid costume that's too tight but I think ya'll understand where I'm coming from . . .
Anyway, if you like the video please forward it on to somebody who might also enjoy it . . . If any of you kindly folks have a Fark account, I think "Yo! Small town politico rips off Rocky to make reform" has a nice ring to it as far as a headline goes . . . And if you don't like the video, me or your life . . . Feel free to comment below and pretend that what you type really matters to anyone but your imaginary friend.
Stick with the job at McDonald's, Tony.

ReplyDeleteThis video came out pretty well Tony. I think you should also do one with Deth Im and Greg Beck... Deth vs. Death. (I know they're not pronounced the same but just roll with me a minute.) Then you can ask them both political questions and Deth would answer politely while Greg would cuss at you. It would be awesome!
