At least a few folks are having fun in this weather, I'm guessing that stories of local snowmobile accidents will soon become commonplace as Global
However, I'm not completely blowing off the possibility that climate change can kill us all. Certainly, changing weather has wrecked other societies as well but mostly because they didn't like brown people . . . Certainly, that's not that case in this day and age. Ugh.
Medieval Norse settlers in Greenland were near some the best fishing areas in the world. Their neighbors, the Inuit, became some of the best fishermen. Yet the Greenlanders ultimately had to abandon their settlements or starve.Yep, we've seen it time and again . . . People have to change if they want to survive and to get past this current cold spell I'm going to take a page out of the book of nearly every broad I've met. So starting now I'm going to cry, whine, stomp my feet and then bury my head under the covers until this cold spell finally relents.
As the climate grew cooler and their non-native crops failed, it became impossible for them to feed themselves or their animals. Yet seeing themselves as advanced Europeans, they refused to believe that they could learn anything from the "skraelings," an Old Norse word meaning "wretches," who lived near them.
The fatal result was that they made no use of an obvious and abundant protein source. "Every archeologist who comes to excavate in Greenland refuses initially to believe the incredible claim that the Greenland Norse didn't eat fish."
