Kansas City's Central Library is planing on spending $210,000 in order to make its basement seem more like a theater. The building was formerly a bank and the basement is a vault but now that it's a library all the place does is lose money, so there ends the similarity . . . Anyway, in order to make the conversion complete I'm assuming that all of the homeless, smelly bums who occupy the place during the day will take some part in making the floors horribly sticky just like a real movie theater. Ew, is right.
But I'm not sure if they really want a Hollywood style makeover since, as Anna Nichole Smith's last transformation has taught us . . . It only means that you'll be dead a few years later as a result . . .
Also, if Hollywood is any indication, it seems that a makeover only helps to sell tabloids and offers little if any advancement in terms of a career.
Still, I won't mind watching movies with the homeless bums at the library . . . I always wondered when they would perfect the smell-o-vision technology and I'm proud to see that Kansas City is leading the way.
