I've met Dee Williams a couple of times and I like her style and her campaign . . . With a smaller campaign budget and fewer (bought and paid for) endorsements she's running a grass roots (read: no money) campaign against Melba Curls to win a seat in the 3rd District . . . You know, the place where a lot of the shootings in this town are reported . . . Anyway, recently I received a report that she's doing great in front of everybody she can talk to even if the local media has yet to pick up on her inspiring underdog story.
Below are results from a recent forum for all of the 3rd District Canidates . . . Also, I would have posted this yesterday but crying while searching for any semblance of a gift got in my way. Thanks to the tipster who sent this in and keep it coming . . .
Last evening (Monday) at True Vine Baptist Church, CCO -- in partnership with True Vine Baptist, Metropolitan Missionary Baptist, Washington Wheatley Neighborhood Association and True Vine CDC -- hosted a 3rd district candidate forum. At the conclusion of that forum, a poll was taken by ballot. The results are as follows:
Attendees: 67
Ballots Cast: 52
At-Large: Curls 29%, Williams 71%
