Citizens Association Creeps

Begrudgingly, I have to admit that the best article regarding KC politics today comes from The Pitch regarding the innerworkings of The Citizens Association.

While I have some serious doubts that anybody pays much attention to any endorsement once they get into the privacy of the voting booth and put their faith in Diebold . . . For some reason this year didn't see much change in all of the endorsement hoopla that seems to consume nearly every candidate . . .

But the important thing to ask is what kind of impact do big money endorsements have, if any . . . Well, if you were to believe that the Citizens Association runs KC politics the way that Jay-Z runs Def Jam records than the results are pretty pathetic . . . Take a look at the Citizens Association candidates from the last election cycle and see if you're satisfied with the results:

All things considered, I'm still not sure if the Citizens Association has enough pull to actually make a difference in the outcome of an election but if, in fact, they do then what they've come up with over the years is very dismal and I don't see a difference in the folks they're currently backing.
