Blogger Backtalk: Fighting Words

The fire in Waldo stole Katie's thunder
- One over-sensationalized, blanket coverage, unimportant and widely exaggerated story at a time.

"I really, truly wish there was some way a city could secede from a state."
- This Lawrence blogger offers a sentiment a great many folks from KC can understand.

Star reporter prejudice???
- Does Yael Abouhalkah have it in for the Italians and the Jews? Personally, I doubt it because that kind of prejudice would make his writing way more interesting. I find his bias is usually directed toward nerdy, nice things that will make old people smile . . . And nobody can blame him for knowing his audience. Also, antisemitism is a very serious charge unless you're Borat, The South Park Guys, Lisa Lampanelli, Paul Mooney or somebody . . . Captivating. As for anti-Italian comments or lack of coverage . . . Well that shit is just funny.

What is WRONG with you, Kansas City?! How could you not flock to Addis Ababa on 39th Street?
- Other than the fact that generations of TV watchers have been trained to associate Ethiopia with starvation, hopelessness and death . . . I can't imagine why KC wasn't digging on the country's cuisine.
