Well, does she look like a crackhead? Does she?!!!!!

Someone, like myself, really needs to get to the UMKC Comm. Studies Department and the UNews and tell these students not to write rhetorical questions that only serve to make people laugh. Yes, blogs are notorious for meaningless slice of life posts but I don't think it was the blogger's intention to make me laugh as I read her story about taking an offer for drugs too personally. Here's a quick recap of how the young blogger was offended:
Out of the blue this guy walks up to me and asks me a question. I'm like what because I didn't really hear him. Then he pulls out several little baggies of weed in one hand and several baggies of powdered crack in another. And the only thing I can think is, Do I look like I smoke crack; Do I look like I buy drugs? He's all like, "I've got that dust, too" while lifting up his pants pocket and pointing to something stuck in his sock. I didn't know what to say so I made a get away from me now face and averted my eyes. The guy quickly went away. I don't even know what to say about that experience other than Whoa that's never happened to me before . . . I keep thinking about that guy and his crack. What about me made him think I was interested in his drugs?
Again, I think we all need to learn how to take this stuff in stride. I get asked a lot of dumb questions throughout the day as well but if I spent my day dwelling on all the instances where someone asked me the best place to get a burrito, I wouldn't get any work done trying to sneak undocumented workers across the border. I kid, I kid! Pancho's on Main is the best place to get a burrito and the only thing I know about the border is that I always get a ticket when I cross the one that leads to Kansas.

Anyway, I just wanted to make it clear that all of the bloggers out there who have yet to complete college shouldn't feel too intimidated by the competition.

And by the way, the answer is yes, but only because the suspected crackhead was so emotional in response to the offer and knew not to ask for a discount.

  1. For the record, crack doesn't come in "powder" form. Not that I know that firsthand or anything ... seriously ... now the weed, on the other hand ...
