The view from Kansas

I've been reading the Kansas City Kansan today because Grandma porn just isn't holding my interest and I was intrigued by the top story which reported a guy getting 121 months in a pot bust case. And that reminded me of the real estate scam artist I read about this morning who stole $6 million . . . It would be silly to point out the disparity but the two stories make me wonder which one is worse: A big time pot dealer or someone who can depress the housing market of an entire community? Arguably, they both do the same thing AND people stupidly engage in casual drug use as well as casual forays into the real estate market that only serve to get them in trouble so my moral compass is pretty confused at this point.

The only thing for sure is that I like the (somewhat) new Kansas City Kansan site and it's kept me interested in the news out of our (ugly) sister city for the moment.

Other interesting news from the less interesting side of the State Line:

They are developing more than barbecue sandwiches in the Rosedale neighborhood. OR, how the WyCo building boom hopefully won't follow the same path of getting rid of po'folk as it does in KCMO.

And

KCK Schools seem to be much better than their KCMO counterparts OR look what happens when you let Mexican kids read!!!
