Not much holiday cheer from the dorks at The Pitch but I have to say it's a pretty decent issue given the fact that most other local reporters are already phoning it in and retreating back to JoCo or whatever suburb they're from . . . Here's the round up:
Nadia Pflaum tempts fate and writes a holiday faux crucifixion story featuring some guy who looks like a stunt double from that movie Powder. If word count was an indication of quality then I would recommend the lengthy article. However, the whole story seems as childish, irresponsible and lost as its subject.
A PETA princess takes on Burberry at the Plaza and the Pitch is there to both encourage and mock her with an indecisive write up that may or may not demonstrate that casual drug use and the abundance of holiday parties might unintentionally produce some mixed messages on the part of Pitch staffers.
Finally, some quick movie reviews offer a glimpse into the extraordinary white guilt felt by the folks at The Pitch as they wholeheartedly endorse Spike Lee's preachy, disjointed and did I mention preachy docudrama "When the Levees Broke." Strangely, if watching the film did any good considering that KC's "alternative" paper has done a decent job in assuring that few minority reporters flood past their reception desk.
