Country Club Kay tells you how to dress today

In one week, Mayor Kay has already slapped local Vets in the face by improperly displaying the flag and now she somehow thinks she can tell this town what to wear.
Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes has issued a proclamation declaring Tuesday, Dec. 19 as "Red Tuesday" in honor and memory of Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt. The proclamation encourages all Kansas Citians, even those not attending memorial services for Mr. Hunt, to wear Chiefs red.
And like so many other things, this is the point in this town where the overblown sentiment and hero worship finally becomes too much to bear. Seriously, if you see someone wearing red today who does not directly draw their income from the Chiefs then you are looking at a world class douche bag. Everyone in this town has lost someone close the them and there is little or no fanfare and barely a break from work yet this town is expected to get all misty eyed for a guy who had enough money to buy almost any Asian country. It's all just too silly and these Egyptian-Pharaoh-like string of tributes have gotten me scared that this town will bring back the Stadium Tax if only to make sure the guy has a suitable monument in his honor for his journey to rich man's heaven . . . Which wouldn't be so bad if they promised to bury Jared Allen in it with him along with the rest of the KC defense.

Finally, it's worth noting that if you're watching today's fanfare . . . Very little of it is being provided by the local media as rumor has it that the Hunt Family has pretty much shut local reporters out of the proceedings.
