Bloodbath in Kansas City

Fox4 was the first station on the ball with this story as all of the stupid early year predictions about the decreasing violence in Kansas City now seem to be blissfully naive and dangerously wrong. Over two days 10 people have died under violent circumstances in Kansas City.
In just two days, 10 people lost their lives in the Metro. In all, four children and six adults were killed. It started Saturday when Hershel Isadore admitted to relatives he killed his cousin, his long-time girlfriend, and his four children before killing himself. The same night, across State Line, police said two men beat another man to death. Then Monday morning, two men shot four people during a home invasion in the Northland. Two died.
Last year, the issue of violence in KC was passed around like a hot potato and the only thing that resulted were a few lame public service announcements and a commission with even sillier suggestions. Sadly, not even candlelight vigils are going to solve this problem. The issue of violence in KC effects everyone in this town even if most of the murder resides solely in the poor and minority communities. None of the grand plans that this city has contrived stand a chance if there is no guarantee of security. Sadly, the same lesson holds true in Iraq . . . And yet few people tend to care about the casualties as long as it doesn't affect their neighborhood.

  1. You go on and on an on about how City Hall is doing nothing about the murders, but I'm still waiting for you to suggest even one idea for how to make the people on the East Side stop killing each other.

That's really not my job. But here's one for starters, didn't do too bad in an earlier experiment either and probably much more effective than making TV commercials.

    You're welcome.

  3. The "east side?" This story suggests that we are truly One KC, with murders, mass murders and more murders occurring in every third of our city. With the Chiefs in freefall, murder is what unites us!

  4. You'll be happy to know that Brent & I drive an Escape Hybrid. Not to mention my 80 mpg scooter...now if only my neighborhood was safe enough to ride that through...
