The guy is great. No problems with him really. But this statement really makes my skin crawl regarding this town's paper of record: "Soon-to-be former city auditor Mark Funkhouser plans a news conference late Monday morning, after a meeting with The Star's editorial board." Not that statement you'd expect to hear from anybody who might want to be "objective" about the whole thing. However, I will note that Funkhouser is a not a politician and is as exciting to listen to as Charlie Brown's teacher "Wonk, Wonk, Wonk" ya know? But who knows, he could come out and announce that he's NOT going to run. Still, what's clear is that in this crowded of a field ANYBODY COULD WIN.
