Things to note: Please don't vote for anyone who is currently holding elected office unless your idea of KC's future includes a lot of potholes, a huge debt load and expensive construction projects with virtually no (real) minority participation. In keeping with my "Kay Barnes is a Vampire" theme . . . It's really time for new blood in City Hall.

First in district: Bill Skaggs

Second at large: Ed Ford

Second in district: Russ Johnson

Third at large: DeBorah Dee Williams; Melba Curls

Third in district: Teola Powell; Saundra McFadden-Weaver; Sharon Sanders Brooks

Fourth at large: John Tancredi

Fourth in district: Ezekiel Amador; Jan Marcason

Fifth in district: John Shields

Fifth at large: Kimiko Gilmore; Cindy Baker Circo

Sixth at large: Cathy Jolly; Octavia Southall

Sixth in district: John Sharp; Darrell Curls; Garret Denzer

One more thing to note: I notice that one of the toughest districts in the area is a little light on bidders. Jan Marcason's candidacy is pretty much a joke and will consist of nothing more than looking pretty in a business suit and I see the Mel Solomon has yet to weigh in . . . So I can only assume someone forgot to remind him at the last Illuminati meeting.
