When parents are stool pigeons

Gladstone parents sung like a canary when their kid came home with a rare bird which was recently reported stolen.

I'm sure that you could argue that the parents did the right thing but there is also something to be said for encouraging you kids and supporting their endeavors . . . At least that's the case I'd try to make if I were the kid who will one day inevitably turn up on the Dr. Phil Show. Also, in order to patch up the obviously strained relationship it might be worthwhile if the parents did a little research on youth culture and maybe bought a couple of "stop snitchin" t-shirts as an attempt at reconciliation.
