Lately, The Pitch has been light in terms of local coverage. Most of you may not know this because you only read the thing for the ads featuring hookers or to locate different sex shops around town. Also, while I like the new "Ask a Mexican" syndicated column they picked up . . . Everyone knows there are much better venues than The Pitch if you wanted to learn something about Mexicans.
However, a recent article on local music stores selling vinyl records offers a fascinating look at one of my favorite old technologies and the enthusiasm it has created among my fellow local luddites.
Here are a few of the shops listed by the article:
- The Music Exchange (relocated in The West Bottoms)
- Zebedee's, in a brightly painted house near West 39th Street and Roanoke.
- And coming soon, currently under construction but still open: The Little Red Rooster which (or may not) be located in the basement of Prospero's Books.
Yeah dude, you nailed it. People who are interested in music besides the overplayed and boring DJ jerkoff-fest that is hip hop are boring...
ReplyDeleteNo, wait, I said that wrong. You're boring. Write your own music, jackass.
So where exactly in the West Bottoms is the Music Exchange now? Their web site is so out of date it say they are on Broadway and closing in December.
