I have to say there is a resemblance. I hope I'm not as dorky as her husband. Thank you Sheri, for the link. She now admits that it could be true. There's a great article today in The Star about the commercials and their recent filming around town.
Still, I thought the ads featuring the two Sonic guys were previews for Brokeback Mountain.
Barkley Evergreen, the agency that did these ads for Sonic, used to say on their website that "Every idea has an expiration date." Um, this over-hyped campaign has been on the air so many years and has been beaten to death in so many variations that Sonic and their agency can't even tell how bad this crap stinks.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for Sonic to get a new agency. Barkley Evergreen is obviously a one-trick pony.
Nice. I know all the big ad agencies in town visit this blog because I can see their IP's but then few of them will give me any work.
ReplyDeleteKHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!
i still laugh at sonic commericals. i like the guy couple, and think it's funny that one is talking about getting (female) dates.
ReplyDeletefor married people, too, the hetero-couple is funny.
i didn't like them at first, but they grew on me. as a woman, i will refrain, though, from liking the burger king "i am man, i need meat to clog my ateries to keep up the heart disease rate in my country" song-commercials.
and you all know how much i eat sonic, so i'm inconsistent, yeah. but i still wish burger king wouldn't pimp their "meatnormous"ness to masses who don't need to think that eating cow and fried potato is good.
if so, then bring back smoking commericals! and more for beer and wine, too, while you're at it!
I used to hate them but they have grown on me. Overall the two guys are funnier to me than the married couple. Though I have to admit I laughed aloud at the married couple commercial that included the sweater remark mentioned in the article.
ReplyDeleteI hate all the Sonic commercials, so maybe if they put you and Sheri in one of them, they might finally have a watchable spot.
ReplyDeleteI particularly dislike the two-guy ads. Has anyone noticed the big THWACK sound they use to puncuate the lame/non-existent punchline? I imagine it's the sound a fist smacking either Baggy Eyes or White Rabbit. Doesn't matter which.
