Local Hipsters Beware!

Vespa Bandits lurk the streets of KC.

A recent victim of a near hipster bike hijacking was a "17-year-old son of a high-ranking city official." The report doesn't reveal the identity but it does provide a clue: "The victim's father has previously expressed concerns about the Police Department's slow response to 911 calls during peak times." Also, The Star didn't release the name because the thieves are still in possession of the kid's keys . . . Even though it's not likely that the crooks read our daily rag since fewer people do everyday.

Luckily, the scooter was a piece of crap so it didn't work . . . If the kid is related to a KC official then obviously he's accustomed to failure on the roads of this town. Also, the article seems to lament the violence and crime in KC but it's a nice example of a local leader having to deal with that problem on a level that's not merely a bunch of complaints from constituents.
