There can be only one

Today the Star is featuring the heads of KC's mayoral candidates along with a cartoon body running a race. It's supposed to be clever but it made me think of the movie Highlander and the bloodletting that's soon to follow as the competition gets narrowed down. I won't distinguish between who might and who already is running because if their name is in this article then they are, in fact, running for mayor. Anyway, here's the list so far:

Alvin Brooks, council member

Chuck Eddy, council member

Janice Ellis, children'’s advocate

Stan Glazer, business owner

Henry Klein, businessman

Becky Nace, council member

John Fairfield, council member

Jim Glover, council member

Jerry Riffel, former council member

Joe Serviss, former council member

Katheryn Shields, Jackson County executive

It'll actually be fun watching these people cut each other to pieces or at least more so than watching the sports teams that completely own the majority of the current local public officials.
