Today, the eminently humorless Dave Helling writes about two local blogs creating quite a stir.
Save KC
Save Our Owners
The article claims that Steve "the shortest and angriest man in Kansas City" Glorioso has filed a complaint with the Missouri Ethics Commission, claiming saveourowners.com must disclose its funding sources and spending, like other political committees and candidates.
Good luck getting bloggers to disclose anything but daily musings on their cat and maybe a few top five lists.
Sad thing is, this anti-blog article planted by Stadium supporters (i.e.: The Star editorial board) is exactly the reason why blogging and bloggers are so important. I don't know who runs these sites and I don't care . . . What I do care about is that there is a place for people in this town to publish their thoughts without having to answer to Glorioso, Lamar Hunt or Missouri Government officials. I don't know why Stadium supporters would be so upset about blogs anyway considering that they have The Star in their pocket.
What's more . . . When Dave Helling went to The Star so many people in this town praised his journalistic ethics and integrity for leaving the much more relevant Channel 5 and its bigger audience. It seemed as if all of the media watchers in town wanted to give Helling an award for being boring. Now that he's clearly working as a "tool" for The Star's crooked and self-interested support of the Stadium Tax it seems as if his sterling reputation is a bit undeserved.
Bad hair does not necessarily make a person trustworthy.
I thought it was hilarious that the Star, home of unsigned editorials, dared to run that article.
ReplyDeleteLMAO!!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for a lovely St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow!
Have you noticed that the mood of Star editorials and columns has started to shift as the election draws near? It has gone from the confident "this is good for KC and we are the Star, so everyone will be for it" to a more desperate attack mode. If Steve Glorioso is worrying about blogs, then I can almost smell victory. There is something in the Star daily, as if the stadium whore duty is being rotated among the columnists.
