Mel Solomon spotted looking for love during St. Patrick's Day Parade

Normally, you have to wait until an elected official is actually elected in order to watch them do stupid things while they are drunk with power. Not so in Kansas City politics where debauchery and self-abasement is common enough to make you think that everyday is St. Paddy's Day. This local blogger files an excellent post in which she reports on 4th District City Council hopeful Mel Solomon and his desperate search for supporters:
The biggest lie had to be the Mel Solomon procession. He had about 30 people or so walking behind his banner waving to the crowd, him out in front of it all looking like a big goofy cartoon character. Soon after his group passed, I noticed some people hanging out around me that had 'Mel Solomon' t-shirts on. I asked one of them if they knew Mel. "No, someone came up to me in the crowd before-hand and offered to give me a free t-shirt if I walked in the parade with them". A friend of mine later tried to turn down 'Mel Solomon' literature that some woman was thrusting upon him. She asked him to please take it as "...I get paid for every one I hand out."
Sadly, like many young women on St. Paddy's Day Solomon was looking for somebody to tell him they liked him and lie about commitment. With all the excitement of the parade you might feel sorry for KC voters when they wake up next to a candidate as desperate and needy as Solomon.

If Solomon really wanted to earn some votes he could have come up with some kind of cross-promotional campaign in which all the snakes driven out on St. Patrick's Day could have helped to eat all of the filthy sewer rats running around Brookside.

  3. Such mean spirited comments are shocking! I am a neighbor and friend to Mel. He neither paid people to wear t-shirts nor paid them for the number of flyers they distributed. Shame on you for reporting such falsehoods!!!!
