The Incentives Keep Rolling In

Politics in this town functions on nothing but bribes, coercion and intimidation. Recently, the latest bit of propaganda news put forth by Stadium Supporters is that that an NCAA Final Four is likely for Kansas City if voters in Jackson County approve renovations at the Truman Sports Complex that include a rolling roof.

Well, that's nothing. Sources tell me that the next major announcement regarding the Stadium Tax will be that Kansas City will host the Resurrection of Jesus Christ pending the approval of more than a BILLION dollars toward the rolling roof and Stadium restoration.

Finally, the enormity of this Stadium Vote is being revealed. A few Mormons might be a little bit upset because Jesus was supposed to make his return in Independence but it's really only a variance of a short distance and it turns out they were less off base than most of the world's religions.

This effort to sway voters by announcing major events that could possibly be held at Truman Sports Complex pending the approval of the Stadium Tax is a powerful marketing gimmick that is sure to convince a lot of people to empty their wallets. In fact, I'm sure that the PR effort to garner more than a Billion dollars for Lamar Hunt and David Glass with little economic benefit for the people of Jackson County is most likely The Greatest Story Ever Told . . . Seriously, it's clear that the greed of Stadium Tax supporters puts every other priority in this town at a distant second.

  4. No, No, No. The Save Our Owners guys are from KC but unlike Tony they have real jobs and don't want to ruin their careers.

  7. Someone bitch slap Yael already. What will that guy talk about once this election is over? Funny thing is, I don't remember the Star having this type of jizz fest over the bi-state vote. Hmm, could it be that most Star writers live in JoCo and didn't want to buck up? Nahhhh.

  8. Would someone look at the Potty Parity issue. There is a law that says that more pottys need to be put into the stadium proposal. It's a state law and the present plan doesn't have enough and so a law suit will stop the vote until there is a enough places to piss at the stadiums.

  9. Sorry previous anonymous person, but more bathrooms do not make the owners any additional money, so don't count on it. There are plans for additional restrooms at Arrowhead, but not nearly as many as you see in any of the new stadiums. In fact, there are few if any ammenities being planned that would increase the average fan's enjoyment of the average game...wider concourses, if anyone thinks that's a big issue. Most relate to the owners' ability to generate cash, like more over-priced restaraunts and concessions.

  10. the stadium needs more toilets to fit all the bullshit that the owner has generated to get the building built.

you KC people need to stop being hostages to your mediocre sports franchises. a new ballpark won't make the management any smarter.

players win championships, not new stadiums.

and by the way, sports are gay.
