Take it slow

As if downtown construction and the pot hole laden streets in this town weren't enough to keep your speed down to a crawl, the loophole for pleading down traffic tickets is coming to an end in KC.
City officials on Thursday put the brakes on a Municipal Court policy of allowing traffic violators to repeatedly plead to lesser charges and keep points off their driving records. Points can lead to license suspensions and higher insurance rates.
Previously, KC had one of the most lenient policies toward speeders and that's created a lot of business for local lawyers who graduated in the bottom of their class. Now that the loophole could soon be gone . . . My advice to the guy who is depositing a briefcase full of unmarked bills from an insurance company is to drive carefully and obey the speed limit.
