One more Catholic Coverup

In order to prepare their students for the real world Avila University, a local Catholic College, has removed the student newspaper (The Talon) from campus due to articles about premarital sex and birth control. Here is their excuse:
Administrators with the small Catholic university confirmed they removed the newspapers and issued a statement: "The newspaper is an institution-sponsored publication. After careful consideration, the publication was removed from circulation because it was inconsistent with the values of the institution."
Fine, but as a (bad) Catholic one of the things that troubles me is the propensity of the Church and Church officials to keep their priests important issues in the closet. It seems that coverups and ignoring all dissent have become an integral part of the catechism. And as far as American Catholics playing the pious role of a shrinking violet . . . one sex scandal after the next, abortion debates and the complete de facto rejection of Catholic Doctrine regarding birth control has proven that the Catholics in this country have had more than their fair share of experience when it comes to discussing sex.
