Gotta Have Faith?

Local blogger Rusty posts a blasphemous and brilliant post regarding the oftentimes mutually exclusive subjects of religion and reason.
I heard someone say this one once. Suicide is a sin in the eyes of God, yet his son Jesus willingly died on the cross for the sins of man. Does this mean that Jesus committed suicide on the cross?
As (my twin*) Vincent Vega of Pulp Fiction fame would say : "That's a bold statement." And I don't think I could say or type something like that without constantly fearing a lightning bolt up my ass, but to each his own. Rusty also lists a lot of scripture from Leviticus which is the favorite book of people who like to tell you what to do. However, I've been engaged in Bible study as well and if I'm reading correctly (doubtful) I think I've worked it out so that not only can I have multiple wives but I can also justify robbing a bank, beating my slaves and using disabled children from foreign lands as a foot stool. It's not exactly what Jesus would do, but when was the last time that ever stopped anyone from serving themselves God?

*Goddamn I have a flawed healthy self-image

  1. May god strike thee dead the next time you update this blog, foul heathen!
Also, see the 9 paradoxes of God for a more intelligent construct than Rusty mustered up. God is either incomprehensibly dimwitted or a supreme intellectual.
