Another case of a desperate old lady looking for love?

The story of young convict John Maynard (26) and dog trainer Toby Young (48) could possibly be the best May/December romance since Ashton and Demi. Recent reports indicate that the couple is not only on the run but also armed and carrying about ten thousand dollars in cash.

While prison breaks are dangerous this one also has the benefit of being hilarious because it clearly demonstrates the extremely poor judgment of an older woman looking for love. Yes, there has been some speculation that Maynard kidnapped Young but that's pretty much wishful thinking on the part of friends and family. I'm speculating that this is a jail break on par with Thelma and Louise only with people who aren't nearly as attractive . . . and that's saying something because my Grandma is hotter than Susan Sarandon and she's in her 80's. Additionally, where in the hell did this couple think they were gonna go? 10k isn't exactly a lot of money and such an odd pairing is bound to raise suspicions of not only crime watchers but also people looking to book guests on daytime talk shows that give older women false hope of finding romance.

Strangely, I've seen this situation play out over and over again in similar (but less dangerous) situations. It's no secret that many older woman can score a younger guy if they are willing to pay his bills, provide food and shelter and look the other way when the guy inevitably screws around. It's a very sad but common situation among women with low self-esteem who pretty much take on the role of mother to a manchild but with the added benefits of beatings and the risk of catching an STD.

Hopefully, all of this drama will end without anybody killed . . . only humiliated. Upon returning to jail, Maynard will no doubt face the ridicule of his prison mates because even though they have been denied the company of women I'm sure most of them would rather wade through a sewer like that guy in Shawshank rather than get it on with the dog training lady. And, with a bit of luck, Young will only get a slap on the wrist for possibly aiding and abetting a prison break and she will subsequently get to go back to her husband and family which is probably just as bad as any prison sentence.
