With friends like these

Mirecki's own colleagues don't back him up, so why should anybody else?
"We repudiate the inappropriate comments in publicized (e-mails) of one of our faculty members, even though we continue to appreciate his scholarly work and teaching," the postcard from Friends of the Department of Religious Studies said.
I still find it hard to believe that a few persistent and otherwise brilliant people believe this guy's story. Especially given his erratic behavior after the alleged incident. Obviously, someone who studies religion is an expert in dealing with stories that are completely made up.

(I love you Jesus ;) *wink)

  1. I've also repudiated his emails. That his emails are offensive doesn't mean he wasn't beaten up.

  2. I think the whole point of Tony's post was how people are rushing to believe this guy just because they agree with his stance on Intelligent Design. You are just proving the point. Sorry, but agree with him or not, his story is fishy, and you have to rely completely on blind faith in his word...no pun.
