Local artist Parrish pens a fantastic post calling for unity among KC's comic artists.
Now, nine tenths of the comics in this town may be crap, but . . . Why pull up the ladder? Musicians don't do it, the 'real'* arts world doesn't do it, the dance world doesn't do it. Why should comics be exclusionary? There's a lot of people in this town who should have the opportunity to explore, if only a little while, the art form. Discouraging them only dries up the readership pool.I pretty much feel the same way about everything but macaroni art, I am the best macaroni artist in KC and I think everybody else should just quit. That's why every time one of my younger cousins brings me their work, I crush it and yell at them. "You'll never beat me. Give it up you little punk. I am the king of macaroni art and you're just a scared little, brown punk. Go back to Mexico and take your white mom with you! We don't need her either."
Yeah, community is a wonderful thing taken in small doses. I've heard the same thing about X but I like my spinal fluid way too much to find out.
