Kansas & Missouri Workers Confront Affordability FAIL As Cost-Of-Living Rises

"The study says you’ll need to work some extra hours if you want that nice home. To afford a two-bedroom rental home in Missouri, NLIHC says that you need to make $22.19 an hour, while working 59 hours a week to afford it. The minimum wage in Missouri is $15.

"In Kansas, you’ll need to be making $21.70 an hour according to the study, while working a whopping 120 hours per week. The minimum wage in Kansas is $7.25.

"If you want to live in a modest one-bedroom Missouri rental at a fair market rate, the study says you’ll have to work 49 hours a week. In Kansas, it’ll take you 98 hours."
