American Women Outwork Stay-At-Home Blogger Boyfriends

Once again TKC has proven ahead of his time in terms of worsening misery. 

Before anybody else . . . We understood that newspaper were a legacy of the past. Similarly, the so-called feminization of the work force that would drive men into hiding was also something we understood before it had a name and dudes simply understood that all of their best jokes would end in a tense meeting with HR. 

The punchline for this news story . . . Any dude with strong opinions on the topic PROBABLY isn't writing them from a place of gainful corporate employment. 

And so . . . 

Here's a bit of big picture economic data that informs the perspective of so many of our bloggy readers.  

As of early 2026, women held more payroll jobs than men in the United States. This has happened twice before — briefly during the Great Recession and again just before Covid — and both times it reversed. Laura Ullrich, a former regional economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond who authored a new analysis through Indeed's Hiring Lab, says this time is structurally different.

"It definitely doesn't, to me, seem like the change has been driven by a recessionary period, which is what typically drives it," she told Fortune. "This seems to be more of a long-term decline that's led to more of a permanent shift going forward, or at least semi-permanent."
