"The Star ran a silly article about Chiefs' players who owned restaurants in Kansas City.  But it left out a very notable one: Jared Allen owned a place on Southwest Boulevard.  

"After Allen was traded to the Vikings, the restaurant closed.  I heard, though, that Allen gave all the staff some severance pay.  That is rarely done anywhere and almost never in the restaurant business."
