Kansas City Celebrates ONE MILLION BUCKS For Housing Handout

Here's the update that has garnered good vibes amongst the civic elite today . . .

The Health Forward Foundation has given $1.3 million to 13 community-based organizations that are trying to increase access to affordable, healthy housing in a significant effort to address the growing housing crisis in the Kansas City area.

According to leaders, this initiative is as much about securing homes as it is about enhancing public health.

"Safe, affordable housing is one of the most powerful levers we have for improving community health and economic well-being,” said Health Forward Vice President of Policy and Impact. McClain Bryant Macklin.

“By investing in the organizations closest to the housing challenges facing our communities, we are affirming that housing is not just a social good — it's a critical form of public health infrastructure.”
